The fastest and most flexible option for checking out the surrounding area.

Travel Tip: Please keep in mind if you are driving back to the Denver airport on Sunday, traffic will be heavy in the afternoon from the weekend visitors heading down the mountain. Make sure to allow enough time.

Our Story

Our Story

cedarandpines-tori-joe-engagements-28.jpg

Tori and Joe met at a Virginia Tech football tailgate in September 2013, and were originally introduced by Joe’s sister, Katherine. For 8 years, Tori + Joe remained friends as they followed their own paths throughout college and beyond. Joe impulsively moved to South Lake Tahoe, CA after college. While, Tori fulfilled her dream of living & working in New York City after college graduation. Over the years, they were in each other’s orbit, but saw each other infrequently. It wasn’t until 2021, when Tori quit her job and took an employment gap year that they reconnected and decided to explore a more romantic side of their relationship.

Tori was enjoying her cross-country roadtrip adventure in her converted camper van with her dog Beau, when Joe reached out and asked to meet up somewhere along the route. The two eventually decided to convene in Utah to camp and hike together for a few days. It was during their trip in Utah, that they couldn’t deny their extreme compatibility. Tori was (and still is) drawn to Joe’s incredible sense of humor, adventurous spirit, and his kind, loving soul. Joe was drawn to Tori’s dog, Beau. (Kidding, of course!)

After Tori’s short stay with Joe in South Lake Tahoe, the couple decided to move to Denver, CO. Along the way, they adopted another dog Norrie, and are now a family of 4: Joe, Beau, Tori, and Norrie. Yep - the rhyming names were on purpose! Fast forward through multiple moves, numerous outdoor hobbies, backyard dinner parties, game nights, travel, concerts, romantic dinner dates, lots of kisses, tears and life changes… the couple can’t wait to finally tie the knot!

Joe surprised Tori while on a trip to Istanbul in June 2023 with a beautiful and romantic proposal on the Bosphorus Straight. The couple enjoyed a wonderful 2 week trip throughout Turkey to celebrate their engagement!

Joe + Tori are looking forward to a marriage full of adventure, unconditional love, belly laughs, dog hair, and dancing in the kitchen. They are thrilled to include their favorite people in the celebration of their marriage, and can't wait to be The Waltons!

Altitude in

COLORADO

Things to Remember When Visiting High Altitude:

1. Drink water: This is the number one way to help your body adjust easily to our higher altitude. The low humidity in Colorado keeps the air dry, like the desert, so you need about twice as much water here as you would drink at home.

2. Monitor your alcohol intake: In Colorado's rarified air, golf balls go ten percent farther… and so do cocktails. Alcoholic drinks pack more of a wallop than at sea level. It is recommended that you go easy on the alcohol in the mountains and in Denver, as its effects will feel stronger here.

3. Pack for sun: The sky really is bluer in Colorado. But there's 25 percent less protection from the sun, so sunscreen is a must. Colorado receives over 300 days of sunshine each year (more than San Diego or Miami - they say).

4. Dress in layers: Check the weather two days before your trip and use this information to pack appropriately. Because you'll be closer to the sun, it can feel warmer than the actual temperature during the daytime, but then become very chilly after sundown.

5. Enjoy yourself: Don't let anything you hear about the mile-high altitude scare you. The air is just thinner and dryer. In fact, many people with respiratory problems move to Denver for the benefit of the dry air. Just follow these simple tips and you will very likely not even notice the difference.

Tabernash is located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado at 8,573 feet above sea level. Denver is 5,280 feet (1 mile high) above sea level.
